Marine Electrical
The Marine Group offers electrical repair, servicing, maintenance and installation for all your marine electrics and electronic products. We are able to supply and service virtually any equipment found on private and commercial vessels up to 200 feet in length. All of our electrical services are carried out by fully qualified marine electricians.
Our Marine Electrical Services Include:
Airconditioning & Refrigeration
Our experienced team of marine electricians can service, supply, install and repair all makes and models of Marine Airconditioning / Refrigeration systems. From single units to complete marine airconditioning systems, controls, water pumps, electrical faults, reverse cycle heating and all types of refrigeration equipment.
Electrical Surveys
Our electrical surveys examine the external condition of the wiring, connections and system installations. As part of the boat’s electrical survey all electrical marine systems are traced and inspected. Design and quality of installation will be addressed along with recommendations for modification and improvement.
Audio/Visual Systems
The Marine Group install, service and repair marine audio and video equipment for just about any type of vessel. From installing high performance audio systems on small pleasure craft to creating a fully-immersive entertainment experience on a luxury yacht, our expert electricians can meet any possible audio & video design need.
Marine Batteries
Our main focus will be to check your marine batteries to ensure your boat is safe to use and ready to cruise. The Marine Group is also leading the charge in Lithium ION marine batteries for the marine market. Twice as long lasting, lighter and far superior than regular marine batteries and with zero maintenance, why would you use anything else?
Anchor Winch Systems
You don’t want to run aground because your anchor winch malfunctions at a critical moment or wake up listing on a beach somewhere. We perform maintenance, servicing and replacements of all types of anchor winches, including drum and electric drum systems. Our team has the expertise and equipment to make sure you can rely on your anchor retrieval system to do its job.
Autopilot Systems
Modern autopilots have various methods of maintaining a more accurate course than their predecessors: auto-trim, auto sea-state, and integration with GPS. The latest developments include SmartSteer software algorithms from Raymarine, which use a rate gyro to more accurately detect off-course deviations, and an algorithm that learns your boat’s handling characteristics to improve steering over time.
Bilge Pumps
It is important to maintain your boat’s bilge pump on a regular basis. Don’t let it be a case of out-of-sight, out-of-mind. A regular check of your bilge pump to check that it is in good working order reduces the risk of problems when you need it most. Many boats have sunk simply because the Bilge Pump had not been in good working order… a simple inexpensive check and service would have prevented these costly mistakes.
Chartplotters
As with all marine systems, chart-plotters generally are not used alone, quite often they are integrated into a range of marine instruments to help guide the ship under many conditions. Talk to the Marine Group if you are thinking of updating or installing a Chartplotter. We can assess and suggest the right system for your boat and personal needs from all the top brands.
Dock like a Pro!

Our fully qualified technicians have been trained to ensure each installation is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and customised to suit each vessel.
Marine Hatch Lifters
Electrically powered struts suit many different applications in addition to lifting engine covers and hatches. These days struts are being used to lift tables and steer consoles, to slide open roofs, as well as to hide barbecues and TVs after use. You can see them converting beds at the touch of a switch, and even sliding security bars into position behind exposed windows. Talk to us about a repair, service or a new installation of marine hatch lifters or linear actuators.
Bow & Stern Thrusters
Installation of a bow thruster can mean greater confidence at the helm, safer docking, and more time on the water. Installing a thruster can involve some major surgery, depending on the type selected and the design of your particular vessel. As such, you’ll want to thoroughly research the various options available in order to select the one that’s right for you. Talk to the Marine Group about the various options available for your vessel including wireless control units.
Marine Alternators
Marine alternators have higher power demands than automobiles to run lights, radio transceivers, navigating equipment, AC/DC inverters, water makers, pumps, winches and other high-amperage devices. This means that marine alternators must be self-cooling at high loads or have an additional cooling subsystem. Marine alternators must also comply with strict safety specifications not required of cars. Talk to us about about the many options in marine alternators.
Communications Equipment
The Marine Group are able to take care of your Marine Communications Equipment needs by offering regular maintenance checks to ensure your equipment is working at its optimal performance. We also offer installations, servicing and sales of top brands including Simran and RayMarine just to name a few.
Marine Toilet Systems
We specialise in the installation of marine electrical toilet systems as well as servicing existing systems. We also offer advice and sales of the best range of Australian made systems for boats of all sizes. We can even upgrade your manual toilet to electric using the Jabsco Lite Flush Electric Toilet. The new Lite Flush has been designed to instantly retrofit your existing manual toilet with the same footprint.
Marine Inverters
Marine Inverters convert the 12V or 24V DC energy stored in your batteries into household 230V AC electricity to run standard business and household appliances, televisions and marine systems when shore power is not available. Inverter/chargers should be professionally installed because they draw a lot of amps, with the potential for dangerous shorts and electrical fires if they’re wired inadequately.
Ship to Shore Power
All boat owners must engage the services of a licensed electrical contractor for work on any mains voltage (230V or 240V) on their boats and the electrician must ensure wiring meets Australian Standard AS/NZS 3000:2000 and AS: 3014, applicable to all States & Territories of Australia. We are fully licenced and have extensive knowledge of Sydney’s marinas and their Shore Power setups.
Gyro & Stabiliser Installations
Waveless is the new line of ultracompact electric fin stabilizers. Best-in-class roll reduction both Underway and At Anchor, with softer yacht motion for unequalled comfort. Contact us for details.
Marine Generators
Without a working power source, boat owners, guests and crew can be left without air conditioning, electronics, galley equipment and more, rendering the boat useless. It is therefore important not to ignore your generator. The Marine Group service and install most marine generators including Kohler and Onan. Our team is fully qualified to perform warranty repairs, undertake scheduled service, repair, maintain and install marine generators. We offer a regular yearly service and repair service for peace-of-mind.
Hydraulic Swim Platforms
Stella Hydraulic Swim Platforms have become a ’must have’ accessory on all new builds and refit projects. Considering the many value adding benefits such as extending the real estate of a boat, creating a safe platform for swimming and being a carrier for jet ski and tenders – it’s really no wonder. Every boat is different and as such every platform is designed differently so talk to us about installing the right platform for your vessel.
Watermakers & Desalinators
Watermakers for boats are now compact, efficient and so reliable that everyone considering an extended trip should plan to install one. We are specialists in the installation of the Stella Watermakers brand, the largest selling Watermakers in Australia and New Zealand. Stella Watermakers manufacture a unique system that is simple to operate and is extremely reliable. Talk to us about watermakers that suit your vessel.
Solar Panels & Wind Generators
If you are a serious boatie, the best system may be a blended system with both a wind generator and a solar panel. When cruising for a week you may have five cloudy days with little direct sun but the wind constantly blowing 15 to 20 knots or a week of no wind and hot sunny days. Having both would protect your independence from having to continually charge your batteries by running your engine. Contact us for more info.
